This piece was inspired by the cycle of the life and the important role that rot and decay plays, particularly when it is unseen. We see the fruiting body of the mushroom, the pretty parts, but underneath the surface the mycelium network is doing the brunt of the work. There's something beautiful about coming into the world a sticky mess, and going out the same way.
